“You will start with a visit of Huahine Iti (South Huahine), its different bays with its breathtaking views of the lagoon where you can stop and take pictures. A visit the craft store will also be on the agenda.
Then discover Huahine Nui (North Huahine): its archaeological sites (marae), vanilla plantations, visit of a pearl farm, and a stop to see the famous blue eyed eels of Huahine.
You will also learn about the tale of the pregnant woman (Island Princess) upon your visit to the village of Fare, discovery of the giant fern (the symbol of Huahine) and see the fish traps made of volcanic stone in Maeva.”
If you chose the “full day” option, you will continue on to a typical Tahitian meal with a native of Huahine. You have the possibility of learning local recipes like broiled fish with vanilla sauce or fish salad with vanilla guava jelly. Then on to a lesson in head dress wreath weaving, and techniques on how to shell a coconut.
Your guide will sing Polynesian songs, that relate the sacred legends, history and culture of the island.
