Fakarava is part of a biosphere reserve classified by Unesco owing to the rich diversity of its ecosystem.
Two passes connect its huge lagoon to the ocean, the northern pass named “Garuae” is the largest one in the Tuamotus Islands and probably holds the biggest density of fishes with amazing pelagic encounter ever seen.
The 2 dive centers are located :
– in the village of Rotoava
– at Motu Aito (South Pass – Tetamanu)
